Christmas Gifts!

I know its only a few days until Christmas but all these gifts can be worked up within 1 hour! I’m sorry it has taken me so long to get this post up! Some of these patterns are not my own and you can find the links to the patterns below the photos. I will post more photos of the items being worn after Christmas. Thanks again, and Happy Holidays!

For all the little girls in my family I decided to make the CRAZY minions inspired by Despicable Me 2.

Note: Size H hook. I made them all different and for ages 8-12 If you would like to make them for an adult just add a few more increase rounds until the hat fits the crown of our head. DONT JOIN INTO THE TOP OF CHAIN 2, JOIN IN THE FIRST DOUBLE CROCHET.  After chaining 2 at the beginning of each round you will double crochet into the space you chained 2 in.

Abbreviations: Ch = Chain

dc= double crochet

sl st = Slip stich

hdc = Half double Crochet.

sc = Single crochet.

Start with a Magic Ring Chain 2, 10 dc into ring.

Rnd 1: Ch2, 2 dc into each st around.

Rnd 2: Ch 2,  *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next*

Rnd 3: Ch 2, *2 dc in next 2 stitches, 2 dc in the next*

Rnd 4: Ch 2, *3 dc in the next 3 stitch, 2 dc in the next*

Rnd 5- 8: Stop increasing and dc in each st around.

Rnd 9-10: CHANGE TO BLACK, dc around.

Rnd 11-13: CHANGE BACK TO PURPLE and dc around. Fasten Off.

Optional Ear flaps

I made my ear flaps 11 stitches long with 19 stitches in the front and 18 in the back. If you have more stitches just make sure that the front part and the back have the same amount of stitches so you hat isn’t crooked.

Rnd 1: DC 11 stitches chain 2 and turn

Rnd 2: Dc decrease, dc across until last 2 stitches and decrease again

Rnd 3: Dc decrease, dc across until 2 stitches are left and decrease again, Ch 2 and turn

Continue decreasing until there are no more stitches left.

Repeat for the next ear flap.

Then single crochet around the entire hat to make it look neat.

Magic Ring 6 dc, Fasten off.

Rnd 1: 2 dc in each stitch around

Rnd 2: *1 dc, 2 dc in next.* fasten off.

Rnd 3: *2 dc in next 2 st., 2 dc in next* Fasten off.

Rnd 4: *3 dc in next 3 st., 2 dc in next.* Fasten off leaving a long tail

If you want a smaller eye then use fewer stitches and one less row with the light purple.

Sew the eyes so they line up with the black stripe on the hat.

I went a little crazy with the teeth, there’s no wrong way to do them. I chained 2 and put random stitches in the first chain

Example. Ch 2, 1 dc in 1st chain, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 2 sc. fasten off.

It was really random and unfortunately I cant remember what I did for each tooth. But they’re supposed to look funky and odd, so whatever you do will be perfect.

fasten off leaving a long tail.

Sew on your teeth and eyes. Using black yarn weave in a small mouth that corresponds with the teeth.

I used this video on YouTube to do the hair and it worked wonderfully.

Use all the colors that you used on your hat. Cut 3 feet of each piece and pull it through the end the ear flaps and braid until desired length and tie a knot at the end. Repeat for other earflap.

Father and Son Beanie

For the men in my life I made beanies because they whip up quick and who doesn’t just love them?

 NOTE: Size N hook. I used two strands of different colors while making this beanie. This is basic beanie and I used bobwilson123 hat guide for assistance. For the first beanie I used RedHEART Camo and the bottom hats I used Black and Grey.

Slouchy Beanie

I know this hat doesn’t look cute just laying there but its very cute when its on someone’s head haha.
